Worst product Dewalt could produce!
This is a disgrace that a top of the line tool company even sells this. My sander no longer works bc this part failed on my sander right after my warranty expired. Thinking about changing to Milwakee after this happened.

I've had my sander for about 6 years Original pad last for almost the same time. Replaced 2 pads in the last 3 months due to boltholesnot reinforced. Last one lasted about 2 minutes the other day. At a standstill until I can find one with a good backing or go with something else.

Got 90% of the way through sanding one coffee table and it broke. Not sure if mine was defective or if it is just an incredibly weak system.

Totally defective product
Do not buy this product or the sander. It is totally defective and will fail after little use. The pad is attached by 4 screws that seat against a thin fiberglass layer on the back of the pad. but the fiber glass is so thin and so close to the vent holes that is will soon shatter and the pad will fall off.

I was surprised how quickly this sander pad fell apart with just moderate homeowner usage. I expected quality out of DeWalt woodworking tools but this part falls far short of that expectation. They need to redesign the pad asap.

Just buy a different sander
Why would I continue to buy $25 pads for my sander that I only paid $85 for? This was done sanding a flat piece of wood. The center of my pad bulges out, resulting in the center wearing out in no time. I've loosened the screws, tightened them, all of the above. The replacement pads don't work as well as the original so you might as well buy a whole new sander because these replacement pads are only gonna last a month or so if you do a lot of sanding. I love my sander but something needs to be done about the pads.

Buy different sander instead of always replacing
Same issue as others original pad broke up. Bought replacement pad same thing second time using it. Surprised Dewalt has not corrected this problem by replacing with metal instead of plastic.

Hook & loop pad doesn't hook to the loops so well
The sanding discs keep flying off. The hook & loop doesn't grab the back of the sanding discs very well at all. Used 3 days. I considered buying a new hook and loop pad, but the reviews on the replacements are beyond atrocious. Do the engineers that design these products ever have to use them like the customers will? I'm sure they'd find the same results. After all the reviews, Dewalt cant say they don't know about the problem, so, what, does the management say "Just ship it...?"

So many negative reviews. Now what?
Can't believe all the bad feedback here. Figured if I came to the source I could rely on quality that will last. I really need a pad for my DWE6423 Type 1 but now what?
