Poor build quality and unacceptable repair period
Compressor is only two months old and barely used. It has stopped building pressure beyond about 55 PSI. The nearest authorized warranty repair center said it will take two months before they can complete the repair. Now it looks like I will be ordering parts and attempting the repair myself so we can finish installing my daughter's hardwood floor.
I like the lightweight, quiet and easy to carry form of the compressor but hey, this simple machine should run for years, not two months.

Regulator leaks, parts not available, must replace whole manifold which is discontinued for Type 1. No replacement alternative given (Will manifold from type 4 work???)

I've had this compressor for a few years and it's done some great jobs. It's relatively lightweight and comfortable to carry. It's pretty quiet as well.
However, the regulator finally gave out, just like others have pointed out. I don't use it regularly, but I'd expect something with the Dewalt name to last many many years. Disappointing.

Fixed Finally!! Read for regulator fix/ repair
I bought the compressor a couple of years ago and very infrequently used it. Last year it stopped holding pressure. You could hear air leaking from the regulator and the pressure wouldn’t go past 50 psi. After a lot of tinkering I found the problem and the fix!! The faulty regulator is fixed now and it’s working perfectly again.
The attached photos are for a different model compressor but the parts are the same.
Remove all air from the tank and unplug before attempting fix. You have to unscrew (counterclockwise) the regulator knob. It’ll get stuck at a stop, keep unscrewing until it’s completely removed. Use pliers to pull out the plunger type thing. Then I used a Philips size 3 (large) screwdriver to gently unscrew the plastic valve and remove it from the metal manifold. That’s when I found a completely disintegrated and corroded to dust spring there. Replace that spring with any that fits (approx 6mm wide by 20mm long and really thin gauge wire 0.5mm). I used a spring from a 3D printer part. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just has to hold a certain valve part in place. And reassemble. Compressor works perfectly now!

Best portable compressor!
This portable compressor has performed extraordinary well for the several years I have used it. I have owned two other brands of similar size and they didn't work as well. In addition, it's light and easy to use. I'm very happy with this unit. DeWalt did it again!

The Little Engine That Could
I’ve owned this compressor for more than five years and it has performed flawlessly. It’s a great trim compressor. Don’t buy it thinking you can use it to shoot lacquer an hour at a time, or to re-roof a house, but it can shoot brads all day long, as long as you’re not firing on full auto. I haven’t experienced any of the problems noted by other reviewers. Unless I were moving into serious air volume territory, I’d buy this compressor again in a heartbeat. Bonus: it’s a bit heavy, but you can lug it around like a suitcase.

Awesome little compressor
I`m a professional duct cleaner and i`m using it a LOT for air blasting!!! Most of the time it runs non stop for 3-4 hours, newer have an issue. it`s light enough that you can carry it far away and pretty quiet so i can us it in retirement homes without disturbing residents. I`v been using in for 2,5 years, no issue. Well wait there is one the drain valve fail and won`t open, i think i was trying to open it when it was frozen. P.S. cord could be longer.

Regulator problem is annoying but manageable
For all with regulator problems, the fix isn’t too difficult. Unscrew regulator knob until the stop, then with tank empty (!, break the stop and fully remove the knob. Remove spring and piston. The problem is debris gets jammed in the piston and can possibly score the bore. Use 400+ wet grit and polish the bore a bit if needed, removing all grit and debris. Now lube with a krytox or similar “clean” lube. Reassemble. Next try will take you under 2 mins and you’ll be doing it every few weeks of full time use. All is fine after that. Haven’t experienced broken plates or pulleys as other reviews. Roughly 3-4 years of part time remodeling - I’d say 100-200+ hours easy.

Quiet(ish) with a lot of power
I have had this compressor for well over a year now with no problems at all. It's not as quiet as those tiny ones from another manufacturer, but the tiny one have a horrible refill rate. I am a flooring contractor, and this has no problem running two flooring staplers at the same time.

Great portable compressor!!
I got this compressor about a month ago and it is great. It’s pretty lightweight so it’s easy to carry around. Great feature is that it is really quiet for a compressor - you can have a normal conversation while it’s running - my clients appreciate that a lot when they’re in the next room. It also fills quickly so you can keep going without stopping to wait for the tank to refill. Super value and top quality compressor!
