DeWalt DCED472X1 60V MAX* 7-1/2 in. Brushless Attachment Capable Edger Kit

I purchased this edger more than a month ago and waited until I had used it a few times prior to writing a review. This edger is great in all respects. This is my first lawn tool purchase that was not gasoline operated and I could not be happier. I live in southern Louisiana and have a large lawn of thick St. Augustine grass that this edger handled without a problem. Battery life is great so far. I was able to edge my lawn (600') and my daughters lawn (300') on one charge with power left. The only small issue you will find is the grass shield thing at the rear of the edger does not function properly, so just take it off. I have seen reviews that comment on the weight but I found it similar to handling gasoline edgers so no problem. I would highly recommend this product.

I love my Dewalt 60V edger. It is an excellent product! All my power tools are Dewalt. I'm a big advocate of Dewalt power equipment.

What is frustrating for me is I cannot purchase the string trimmer attachment (DWOAS9ST) separately for this edger which I don't understand. To purchase the trimmer attachment, I have to purchase the complete trimmer tool. If I would have purchased the string trimmer first, I could have purchased the edger attachment for the string trimmer. Dewalt advertises this product as an attachment capable edger but will not off the string trimmer (DWOAS9ST) as a separate purchase. I can't understand this. Can someone please explain this to me? I am a loyal and devoted Dewalt customer that is disappointed for the first time.

After many attempts I finally got an answer. It is a locking rod to assist in the blade replacement. The document is titled 'DWOAS4ED How to change the blade on the edger'

I just bought a combo trimmer and edger. Included with the edger was a tool looking thing that was not pictured or mentioned in either booklet in the box.

I picked up the new edger to replace an electric one that blew up on me. I already own a large number of Flex-Volt items and was in the market for a new edger and this came across my searches. I was more than impressed with the power and ease of use. I am also excited to see Dewalt finally introducing a product with the ability to change out attachments.

Got mine 3 days ago and immediately put it to work. The only thing I see is the guard behind the blade. Where it wraps towards the front it grabs the uncut grass. I tried it without the guard. That was not cool. So I cut the wrapped edge off of the guard and put it back on. Now the guard works as it is supposed to and the blade moves easily through the grass.

I have a large lawn that I was not edging in any way, so I'm way behind. I received this unit today and put it to work with excellent results. The unit does not bog down and leaves a very clean trench as desired.
