DeWalt DCST922P1 20V Max 14" Folding String Trimmer

I bought this trimmer a few weeks ago and after two uses, it is useless. I spend more time restraining this piece of garbage than trimming. Now the guard screws fall off and I can't find a parts list detailing what screws to replace it with. I went back to using my old skil trimmer that I hated. I own several other Dewalt 20V equipment that I worked, but this trimmer is very disappointing.

~8-10 uses on my small lawn (I only trim once every 2-3 times I mow my lawn) and the main motor bearing is already broke. Of course 2 weeks past the "1 year free service contract" warranty (whatever that phrase even means...).

Can't believe DeWalt hasn't recalled this model with all the bad reviews here and elsewhere (seemingly everywhere EXCEPT Amazon, where it somehow has good reviews there... where I bought it from). You can see it for yourself right here, not even 3 stars, with the majority of reviews being bad (compared to my 5+ other non-lawn DeWalt power tools, which have been GREAT, and all have 5-star reviews here).

Hopefully once I call DeWalt on Monday they can help me out warranty-wise... but with the sheer number of reviews which mention their replacement unit ALSO broke very quickly (look for the reviews were several people have had 3+ of these even!)... I'm not very hopeful.

I have purchased 2 of these in the last 4 years. The first quit after about 2 years. We purchased the second and it also has quit working. Same issue as the first. There is no one that works on battery weed eaters locally and there isn’t a service center locally to take it to. I loved how easy it was to use while it was operating but too expensive to replace every couple of years.

I bought this in Home Depot. My trusted (corded) trimmer died after 19 years of faithful use. I decided to go high tech with cordless as gas units were too much trouble. After many uses, I LOVE this thing. I trim a measured 450 feet x 12" on low setting with plenty of power left on a single charge. I still have plenty of string left so I can't say if it's difficult to replace. The "bump" feed system works flawlessly. I do need to brush clean the motor vents after every use but that takes seconds. The unit is foldable, but I don't bother. The battery has a two-year warranty, so we'll see if that's necessary. This is easy to use. With the grab handle in front of the folding joint angled towards the user it's 100% balanced. I would recommend this trimmer to any homeowner.

I bought this about a year and a half ago & used it every other week for about 15 to 20 minutes each time & used it twice this year, got it out of the garage yesterday and just like a lot of the other reviews, pulled the trigger & nothing happened, try a different fully charged battery & still nothing. I have multiple Dewalt 20v tools & the concrete company that I work for uses all Dewalt 20v tools, but this trimmer is absolute junk!

10 hours use and needs new spool housing cap and spring. Chinese disposable parts. Shame on you Dewalt.

Dies after a few uses over complicated garbage circuit board in this that isn't replaceable.

Not recommended for short people. I am 5’4” the trimmer shaft is far too long for someone of my height. It is very awkward to handle.

Très belle outil. Seul problème est le garde qui devrait empêcher les divers rebus de nous revenir dessus. Le petit morceau de plastique est totallement inutil. Mon ancien tournais a l'inverse de celui ci il tournais dans le sens des éguille du'une montre lui tourne a l'inverse donc adaptation a faire.
