Since I can't update my previous review: Heard back from DeWalt and I need to ship the saw to them for inspection before they'll determine if it's covered under warranty. The issue I'm having is widely reported and seems to be common across both type 1 and 2 of this tool. Guess I'm going to do my best to fix the oiler on my own and buy a Stihl or Husqvarna or something else that'll hold up for more than 12 months at a time if I can't.
I really want to love this saw. It's got as much or more power and torque as my gas saw, and it SHOULD be lower maintenance by comparison. Unfortunately the reality is that I lose more time dealing with the various issues related to this saw compared to mixing oil/gas and doing basic maintenance on the gas unit. Common problems that you'll deal with (across 2 units, the one I purchased and the warranty replacement) include the bar flexing excessively (due to being sandwiched between 2 plastic parts) the chain popping off frequently due the the inconsistent tensioning system, frequently replacing the drive sprocket when the chain eats it due to not maintaining tension. (this was my original warranty issue, but after that I started buying replacements online and keeping multiple spares on hand). I've cut up exactly 2 large trees with this thing, but have mostly used it for removing brush honeysuckle and 20 or so trees under 3" in diameter. Pretty much regardless of how DeWalt handles my second warranty claim, I'm getting my gas saw tuned up and relegating this thing to backup duty. I love the rest of my DeWalt tools, but every company has a miss, and this appears to be theirs. :/

Disappointing Experience with the DEWALT DCCS670X1
Disappointing Experience with the DEWALT DCCS670X1 Chainsaw
I purchased the DEWALT DCCS670X1 chainsaw from ACME TOOLS, and brought it with me to Mexico. Unfortunately, I didn’t test it before leaving, and when I tried to use it there, the chain quickly came off the guide as soon as it started running. I've used other chainsaws before, but this was my first battery-powered one, taking advantage of my existing DEWALT batteries. Sadly, this chainsaw just doesn’t work well. It’s extremely frustrating to pay that much, carry it with all the hassle of traveling by plane, only for it to be unusable.
I would not recommend this chainsaw. It might be worth considering other brands with better reviews and more reliable performance.

These chainsaws have a design flaw in the oil pump that causes them to not oil at all because of a broken casting piece. DeWalt does not stand behind this product flaw so if you spend 350 on a saw, expect to need to send it out to DeWalt to fix it for another 100 bucks because the part isn't available for you to fix it yourself.
A 3 year manufacturers warranty doesn't mean anything if the company just blames it on the user.

Third time using this saw and the bar oil reservoir cover broke OFF simply while unscrewing it to add more oil. How is that even possible?! Dewalt service centre employee was very polite and professional while telling me this isn't covered under warranty and could potentially be repaired for $200+ dollars. They'd have to check. Instead of spending $ on what already cost me roughly $600, I'm going to sell a nearly new battery/charger/chain & bar and buy the Stihl I should have purchased in the first place. On a positive note, the 9ah battery was surprisingly powerful, enough to cut through a fairly large tree quickly.

Cuts great when gas is unreliable
Bought this for my father. I ended up using it when his gas saw stopped working and would not stay running. This thing is snappy! Instant speed and cuts great! I did not have any issues with the saw. Cut down 4 trees at approx. 8in circumference. No kickback, and also the 60V 9AH battery had plenty of charge left. Would recommend this product and will be purchasing for myself.

Wildy dissapointing, terrible quality
I have nothing nice to say about this chainsaw, there are three major issues with it. 1) The chain tensioner is constantly loosening up, this is even after tightening the assembly with an allen. 2) The oiler apparently has a common issue where it stops oiling, so say goodbye to your chain and bar. 3) The oil leaks everywhere all the time unless you leave the whole chainsaw on its side.
Overall I'm very disappointed in the quality of this tool, I expected a lot better from DeWalt.

I bought this saw a year ago and have not really used it too much. I noticed the chain oiler was not working yesterday so I took it apart to see why. Turns out, Dewalt used a really poorly designed little plastic nub that the oil pump cam rides on to make the piston cycle in and out. Well, that has snapped off with no reliable way to fix it so now the whole saw is junk. The saw did have lots of power and decent battery life, but none of that matters when the chain is not getting oiled. This saw was built in 2022 so hopefully they have fixed this flaw by now.

PIECE OF CRAP!!! DO NOT BUY!
This saw can't even handle getting a little rain on it. PIECE OF CRAP! how can you sell a piece of equipment that is supposed to be used in an outdoor environment, and it can't handle the smallest amount of rain????? DO BETTER DEWALT! And Customer service SUCKS. They wait until after you have a problem to tell you that this tool can't get the slightest bit wet. Also, bar oil LEAKS all the time! Horrible design, stop selling it!
