handy tool, internal failures within 100 holes
Works great till it doesn't new ones are non rebuild-able, you cannot remove the motor assembly from the case anymore without destroying the selector switch assembly. Ive owned 3 now, the first one i bought when this drill was a new model in the line up . i rebuilt till i couldn't get parts anymore (in a timely fashion). 3rd one died today. Same story every time, the hammer piston sleeve and sheer pin failed. Regardless of how small and handy this drill is. at $720 a kit i can't justify buying a new one for the short life these drills work for.

I purchased this mostly to install tapcons
On its maiden job I thought something was wrong with the brick as the bit drilled through the brick like it wasn’t even there
It wasn’t the brick b/c I did a test with a regular 20v DeWalt hammer drill.
Well worth the money

Took a chance and actually bought this to use on a floor demo job. Was tired of renting 10# demo hammers. This thing made quick work of the marble floor I had to remove, was easy to maneuver and handle, and most importantly didn't break my back after a full day of use. Probably not what it was designed for, but for a small to medium demo job, this thing rocks!

These photos are on day two of use after purchasing (three days ago I knew having a longer bit on it would require longer cool downs but within the first four holes drilled intermittently the hammer portion stopped working. Figuring we maybe overheating it by the grease could have caused the failure but for it stating it can handle a 1” bit I thought I bought the right tool for the job. I am a dewalt fan but this one seems to fall short as this is the second one that’s has failed me on this job. After years of cement work and having one that has grease areas, it surprised me to not find it in the maintenance section of the manual. Which I read beforehand. Now that grease is exiting the knob I can only think to send it in for servicing or return it. Note the drill bit is 3/4” as even I didn’t want to over work it. While it was working it was the best working SDS drill I’ve ever used, but I am very disappointed in its durability ( I returned the first one to the store as I didn’t have time to get it serviced) now I am using another to finish the job as even this one only managed a few holes with rest.

I've found this hammer drill to be alot more useful than I would've thought. I would recommend at least a 5ah battery and not to drill holes over 1/2" though. other than that, this product is pricy to be honest but still cheaper than the alternative for concrete work.

I use it mainly for drilling into concrete slabs for anchors and some light chipping/hammering. A lot of this work is done underneath a slab house in a muddy tunnel repairing/replacing drain lines. Battery life is decent with a 5 or 6 ah battery.
It did a great job while I had it but unfortunately it was stolen along with all my other dewalt tools. I never got the old one back so I bought another.

Ive had this drill for 6 months, it performs very well and no need for 120v power!

I was going to rent a power hole digger (jack hammer yesterday because it took me over an hour to get one hole bug using a hand post hole hole digger, chisels, and digging by hand. I had 10 holes total to do! In Texas we have cliche and rock. I purchased this tool and was able to dig a hole in 3 min, I love Dewalt tools! It is all I purchase!

Don't procrastinate- it's amazing
I kept putting this off because I have a couple hammer drills and I didn't have SDS drill bits, but a sale came that was too good to pass up so I splurged for the drill bits. I don't drill into concrete or tile that often but I always dreaded it. Now, I'm all caught up on my honeydew list and I even have volunteered to help out my buddy's when they complain about having to drill into concrete or tile!
