This extractor is a game changer for dust management. It's powerful so I use a 15AH or 12AH battery to get better run time. Part of the Tstak system so I attach it to the Tstak flat cart and it is perfect for tug-a-long uses, following me around while using the cordless drywall sander or during any other sanding, grinding, cutting applications. Or use it without the cart on stairs or scaffolding. It's a dust extractor, not a shop vac so I use another vacuum for cleaning up but this will do it if needed...fine dust extraction is where this really shines though. With the DCV9402 fleece dust bags, I still haven't had to change the HEPA filters since the bags collect almost all the dust. For more stationary jobs I hook up a cyclone separator to save on fleece bags. The Wireless Tool Control (WTC) works well with the remote or with any tools that have it built in (drywall sander, grinder, palm sander, belt sander, etc). Just wish Dewalt would release more tools with Wireless Tool Control built in, like they do in the UK...or at least make them accessible or an add on feature in the U.S. This extractor is perfect for any small to medium size project and it's the one I use 80% of the time. Larger jobs or jobs with corded power tools still require the corded extractor with tool actuation (large floor demos, all day surface grinding, etc). Just make sure to have some high amp hour batteries (12 or 15) and some fleece bags and you will never regret purchasing this if you work in the field.
On a side note, I noticed many people having trouble with the dcv9000 adapter at the end of the hose and attaching it to tool dust ports...there are several adapters that will take care of this depending on the dust port size. Hopefully this helps:
-dwv9000 is the airlock adapter at the end of the extractor hose, it connects to any Dewalt Airlock dust port or to any of the Dewalt adapters below...
-dwv9110 tapered adapter for 1" to 1.25" ports
-dwv9120 rubber adapter for 35mm ports (think dark blue brand dust ports)
-dwv9130 35mm adapter for metric brands (think teal brand)
-dwv9140 large tapered adapter for standard 2.5" vac hoses and ports (like table saws, some miter saws, or 2.5" hoses/collectors...or think orange brand)
-dwv9150 35mm angled adapter (similar to 9130 but angled) this also slips into some airlock dust ports to extend them further from the tool for greater control
-dwv9160 1" permanent adapter, if you need to make a 1" port capable of accepting the dewalt dwv9000 airlock adapter
-dwv9170 for standard 1.25" dust ports (if it fits loose, just add some thin foam tape or double sided black tape to thicken it out just enough to fit snug)
-dwv9180 for the corded drywall sander
-dwv9190 for using the dwv9000 with 2.5" hoses instead of 1.25" hoses
-N145597 for connecting/adding another 1.25" hose to the dwv9000 adapter

This unit is amazing and changed the way we work and increased our efficiency. The remote switch and full power cordless extraction are definitely the future. Very low cost compared to competitive cordless options available with similar specs. This also fits directly into our TSTAK system that we already happen to use. It’s easy to use and works well, even when used with a router or track saw. I only wish there were an option with a larger container but it’s worth it as is for the cordless ability. I prefer using bags to operate more efficiently and to make the two filters last longer. It’s faster and less messy to empty when using a bag, as well. The remote switch is what really make it versatile as it can be used with any tool and it’s easy to remember to turn it on when it’s attached close to the tool or the tool’s trigger or switch. I’ve been using it for about a year at the time of writing this and it still operates like new. I have never run out of battery power when using it with a 12.0 battery and I actually rarely use a full 6.0. I get about 35-45 minutes of constant use with a 6.0 and much longer with a 12.0.
