Couldn’t be more disappointing
Really disappointed in Dewalt battery powered nailers.
I purchased this framing gun for an interior job and started having issues with it jamming right away.
It also won’t fit the last 4 nails on a strip and if you do t take them out when you reload it will jam on the next shot.
I put the gun away for a few months and decided to try it again with a few different brands of nails. No better. It can’t even get through a full strip of nails without jamming.
I thought it would be nice to get rid of the air hose on smaller jobs or sidewall/ladder tasks. Not even close.
It only holds 1 strip of nails, I throw 4-5 nails out of each strip in the trash and that’s if I’m lucky enough to get to the end of a strip without it jamming and needing to sit down to work on the tool.
I’ve tried 20v max, power stack and flex batteries. It makes no difference.
I also own a huge investment in Dewalt tools and batteries. Despite warnings from others, I purchased the cordless pin nailer and Brad gun around the same time to get away from the air hoses. Those two guns can’t even sink nails in FJP so I find myself making a mess with a nail set when I use them.
That makes this especially disappointing.

Worked great for about a week
I bought this for work framing at first I loved it but after about 4 days I was on a job and the gun ran through 2 strips then I put in a new strip and fired 4 nails and the whole plastic yellow body literally exploded sent the firing mechanism flying in to my chest and knocked me out it shorted out my 5ah powerstack and caught on fire I tried contacting dewalt I haven't heard a word back in about 3 and a half weeks now save your money with medical bills and tool price im out $5,000 I'm furious

Constant jamming and misfiring.
Bought this model about 18 months ago and have had nothing but trouble since day one. Always jams or misfires. Most recent project was a deer blind and it jammed about 60 times and misfired another 30 or 40. Basically every second or third nail. Getting worse every time I use it. Hoping to be able to replace or trade up to a newer model, presuming it doesn't have the same problem. Either that or I go red.

I have been in construction for over 25 years. I have dewalt miter and table saws, finish and Brad nailers, skill, reciprocating and multi tool saws. As well as drills and impacts. This is by far the worst tool that I have ever owned. This gun jambs up one out of every 10 shots. On top of that the light stopped working except when it's Jambed. I purchased the powerstack batteries hoping it would solve some of its issues, to no avail. I recently used a co-workers Milwaukee framer and other than the fact that it is heavier it is far more superior. I do stand by most Dewalt tools, but not this one.

I bought this item two months ago when a friend and I started making ground blinds to sell. I’ve used it on approximately 20 blinds now running primarily 2 1/2” nails. It has jammed more in the last two months than my friends cordless Milwaukee ever has. If I could turn back time I would spend the extra $20-$30 at Home Depot and buy the Milwaukee and borrow my friends batteries. Extremely disappointed. The only thing it has over the Milwaukee is that it’s lighter. Other than that it’s worse in every major category. The rotating rafter hook constantly moves around and gets in the way. It’s harder and slower to load nails and slower to shoot nails. All my other cordless tools are Dewalt….the next nail gun I purchase will be a Milwaukee.

I have ran through over 5000 3 1/4 nails and the nailer works very well. The cons are the rafter hook is not very reassuring and the magazine will not hold 2 sticks of nails. The magazine is the real bummer. If it held 2 full sticks when reloading it would be great. Be nice if Dewalt would make a upgrade for it.

Broke less than 200 nails into use. Metal piece that helps push nails up to go to be shot snapped and fell off in middle of shooting a nail. Won’t feed nails anymore. Customer service said 4-5 weeks to fix then told to take it back but local hardware store said can’t get replacement for 3-4 weeks. Doesn’t hold two full sticks of nails and jammed nonstop.

My first cordless framing nailer
I have always used a pneumatic nailer in the past. I recently framed my basement and already have many dewalt batteries so I bought the 21 degree nailer and saw combo from Home Depot. No noisy compressors and hoses this tool is great.

I recently purchased the 21 degree dewalt nailer. I’ve been in the market for awhile. I purchased it mainly cause the warranty and not having to have the gas cartridge. So far it shots great. I will update later if I have any problems
