DeWalt DWHT36935S 35FT DeWalt Tough Tape

I’ve used this tape measure on and off for the past month measuring doors, windows, interior trim, gutters and siding. It’s solid, light, and easy to read. Unfortunately it’s folds pretty easily when measuring in left to right off the floor and the standoff is much less than advertised

I really like this Tool it is better than the rest of them. I could go 13 feet and it stays stiff and doesn’t bend. The metal is good quality,very strong
The retractable setting isn’t too fast retract at a good speed and it doesn’t retract as easily when the lock is on, Also, the magnetic feature is very handy as well. I really like that. DeWalt has created another masterpiece. just doing projects makes everything so accurate using this tool I like the fact that I could stretch it all the way across my room and it doesn’t snap .one person measurement is way easier to achieve with the strong metal they have in this product .the only thing that this does is Bows more you extend it like any other.

This isn’t my day to day tape, but it is used when I need to measure longer distances. For the 35’ size, it is really quite light but still feels really solid. The tape is really strong, making it a breeze to measure long distances solo. I really enjoy the removable magnet. That’s a life saver when you’re on your own!

This is a truly "heavy" duty tape measure. Considering it's a 35 foot tape, I expected some heft to it, but it weighs in at 1 lb, 10 ounces. That's pretty significant if you're wearing it around all day on your tool belt. It's not what you'd want to use for you daily go-to for small shop work, but it's great for working out on long dimensional lumber or doing measurements inside a building.

The tape's width and strength make it hold up well on long extensions. The optional magnetic attachment is REALLY strong. It'll support the weight of the tape itself, so it holds well to things like steel studs and works great for overhead work on metal surfaces. The magnetic attachment comes loose in the package so you have to install it on the end of the tape. There should be some where to store the magnetic end when it's not being used. I've had it fall off one time so far but luckily I found it.

The large print is available on both sides. It has foot markers and 16" stud markers on both sides so you can read it clearly from front or back equally well.

The only negative I have is that it doesn't have incremented markers for 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc. It's hashmarked in 16ths but as I get older that extra indicator would be nice, but then again this isn't the tape I'm using for super fine work in the shop. It's a construction site tape measure.

I was worried the removable magnet would be an issue. It has held up quite well. It hasn’t come off yet. As with all 35’ tapes it is a little heavy. But the casing has a nice contour so it doesn’t feel huge while holding it. The tape has a good retention spring so it recoils smoothly.

Redoing a basement one of the things I quickly noticed was the 17 foot stick out. Making it easy for me to measure for recessed lights / drywall / and framing all by my self without asking for a second had.

The next thing that was nice for me was the deep contrast between the tape measure background and the numbers. Having poor eyesight that helps me out tremendously.

While I try to be easy on my tools my friends refer to me as "Hard on equipment". After being dropped from ladders and covered in drywall dust it's still extremely smooth and easy to lock. Overall I find my self reaching for it more then the competitors tape measures I also own.

This is my new go-to tape when needing bigger than a sixteen footer. It seems very durable although I haven't tried to push it to it's limit. I really appreciate that the measurements are on both sides and the standout is quite impressive.

They say size doesn’t matter but this bad boy will make any job easier. With its large numbers on both sides, you can definitely see it without any problems. This tape measure fits perfect in your hand and will never slip out. It comes with a detachable magnetic tip which is easily removable if you choose to go without one.

I got the Dewalt 35' tape measure to replace my 30 year old tape that was finally showing some wear and tear. Once I handled my new Dewalt tape measure my first impression was that it was extremely well built and very sturdy. The tape pulls out so smoothly and glides right back in when I release the tape. Very nice smooth operation. The spring mechanism is strong and pulls the tape back very well, not like my old tape where the spring feels soft and not having much pull on it. The Dewalt feels good in my hand, not too big or heavy, and not too small either, so my hands can grab around it firmly. The tape itself is painted bright yellow, and is very easy to read with it's large numbers and clear measurement lines. There are no scrathes of any kind on the blade and the paint and number finish is top notch. On very Nice feature is that the measure lines and number markings are on BOTH the top and bottom sides of the tape, so that will come in very handy for reading in different positions. Love that feature. On the outside of the tape is a nice rubber overmold on the outside, so the tape is not slippery at all, and I can grip the casing without any slipping The belt clip is heavy gauge steel, and is large enough to clip on my belt easily. Also there is a magnet attacment that can optionally attach to the end of the tape that lets the tape stick to a metal surface when I'm taking a measurement. Overall, the tape measure is very impressive with it' sturdy build quality and nice features that make it easier to use. I would definitely buy again, and if you're looking for a tape measure that will last a long time, this is it.

The single most used tool in my toolbox has to be a tape measure. Although these take many shapes and sizes, this one has consistently been my go to for all of my recent projects.

With a nice wide band that's very easy to read and an ergonomic body that's intuitive to run out and use without hesitation. This tape measure has quickly become a staple in my tool lineup.
