DeWalt DWHT47415 150 FT. Large Capacity Chalk Reel

Took me a long time to have a review for this because it’s a monster so it’s something you don’t use everyday but when you need to chalk a long time smaller tool belt lines tend to fade out and this thing doesn’t but it does make a heavy line so be careful. Never tangled because of the size of the line never had a problem in wet environments either when you do need this thing it’s great to have !

Just got this this chalk line to replace an old Keson I had. This Dewalt line is a major improvement over my previous one. The large mouth opening for chalk makes fills clean. My favorite feature is the 2:1 gearing the lines comes in so quick. I will upload pictures from upcoming job soon as I can.

We used our chalk reel to mark out flooring in a large open concept living room & kitchen. The real was really easy to use, and allowed us to work quickly.

Solid chaulk box that leaves a long straight fat line for framing layout, concrete slab cutting, you name it. I have the 100 foot tape measure also and the two together get layouts done fast and accurate. The box takes alot of chaulk so I now know why they sell the large gallon jugs!!!!! 100' of line does take a lot of force to pull taught but I like that I can get a long straight line without connecting two or three little lines from my smaller chalk box.

I have only been using this line for a few days so far. It has been useful for large scale form layout and produces a very visible and thick like. I like the overall construction, size and weight but I have concerns about the long term durability of the gears. I have had issues with gears in previously purchased dewalt chalk lines and this one has a similar feel when reeling. Only time will tell if this is still the case with this reel.

I use this reel alot during my day. I normally use my smaller Dewalt chalk reel but decided to use this one on my 16" sheets my smaller chalk reel is great this have me a great clear line even in a wet windy day.

The large capacity chalk reel is very well designed. They have done some improvements from there older version. It features a nice gear ratio so it quickly reels in the line from long snaps. It gives a nice solid line. The handle fits comfortably in you Hand and is very easy to use. Some of the things I like is the 2:1 gearing Molded handle grip, and easy fill spot with hook holder.

Dewalt chalk reel is a must have when cutting long lenghts of plywood, laying floor tiles and when preparing to set blocks. The 2:1 ratio makes it nice when returning string to its container. It`s solid build means it will last for years to come followed by a lifetime warranty you just can`t go wrong. My jobs have to have the best when building or constructing. My customers want the best, so i must have the best tools possible.
