Like the saw, but why do the tires melt?
I've had the saw for a couple years, use is one a month or so for bladesmithing. Had a saw blade crack and when trying to remove found a black sticky substance all over the inside of the saw. Noticed more inside the saw shroud and when I touched the tires found both were uneven, melting and sliding off the wheels! After reviewing this issue I'm seeing that many people have even worse luck with replacement tires. Is there a "good" brand to buy for a replacement?

Have had the saw for a couple of years. Use it periodically for cutting pipe and angle. The rubber tires to not react well to temperature changes. Tool is in our shop where there are changes in temp/humidity. Was using it yesterday to cut a small piece of square tubing. Halfway through the cut the blade comes off and the rubber on both wheels has started to come off and stuck to itself. Cannot get the rubber pieces apart to attempt to put back on the drive and guide wheel. The material is very sticky and looks like it is breaking down. Saw works great but there parts should last a lot longer with the minimal use it has gotten.

I bought one brand new and made about 20 cuts out of 1/4” Angie iron and the rubber tires are melted one actually broke in half I’ve got a 25 year old Rockwell band saw and have never once had to replace the rubber tires on it so I boxed the brand new dewalt back up until the send me another new set and if they do the same thing I’m taking it back it shouldn’t melt the rubber tires off of it ever considering the person knows how to use it the correct way which I do

Portable Deep Cut Band Saw
Had this product for over 2 years with excellent performance.
Blade Change quick and easy.
Mounted it with the SAWG System on a DeWalt tool stand and use it in shop 2 times per week.

Dewalt made another winner with this one! The saw has excellent fit and finish, plenty of power for my purposes, and seems to make nice straight cuts. It was a little heavy for me so I added the excellent Portaband Table from Swag Off Road, with this accessory it has become one of the most used items in my shop! Thanks Dewalt!

When I bought this, i didn't realize how much I would use it for. I thought I would just use it for cutting out little sheet metal parts for production work on the table. But before I even built a table for it, I was quickly realizing the versatility of this tool. It seemed like every time i was about to grab for the hack saw or the cutting torch or an angle grinder with a cut off wheel, I realized that this would be the best tool for the job instead. And the table i made for it, increases it's usefulness even more for the kind of work I do. This tool will pay for itself in no time. It has tons of power, and is top notch quality and durability.
