Fence is not square with the base with no way to adjust it. Tried calling Dewalt, but you can’t get to a live person - terrible customer service automated system. Returned it to the retailer for a credit and had to order another one - the second saw arrived with the exact same issue. Poor quality control!! I really wanted to like this saw, it had all the features I wanted.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
I have used the DW716XPS for years and mine was getting a little old decided to buy this newer model and it’s not great the rear fences are out of square the angle arrow is a huge block the old one was way better disappointing to say the least hard to be an accurate finish carpenter when your saw is out of square and you can’t even adjust the back fence if there’s any way I can get an old DW716XPS please let me know!!

DeWALT absolutely must do better in machining flatness, coplanarity and alignment quality of the fence assembly. Having to spend extra time and money fixing the inaccuracy of a critical component on a brand new tool is unacceptable!

Great heavy duty miter saw. 12” Double Bevel Compound Miter Saw is powerful, fast and accurate! It handles all my needs in doing woodworking and honey do projects !

This is the lightest 12" miter saw I could find which is critical for me with it going in and out of the van daily. The cuts are beautifully accurate with the stock blade and will only get better with a nice blade upgrade.
My only complaint with this saw is the cutline light. I greatly preferred the auto on/off that comes with the flexvolt saw. I find myself consistently forgetting to turn this light off at the end of the day when its setup in my shop and I do wonder how many hours that little LED has in it before it burns out?

Accurate Saw BUT terrible stock blade
The saw works great and the alignment only needed a very small adjustment to be perfect. My main problem with this saw is the blade that came with it (Dewalt 60T Construction Fine Finish) is terrible. I attached a picture of a crosscut on 1x4 pine going very slow and the tearout and very jagged endgrain isn't acceptable even for a stock blade. I have 10 year old dull blades that cut much better than the included blade. I wasn't expecting the stock blade to be great but this was unacceptable. Also, I had the saw in my cart the night before and it was $299. I logged in the next morning to purchase the saw and it was $373. I noticed the model # changed from DW716XPS to DWS716XPS so I already felt like I paid an extra $73 for nothing than on top of it I had to buy a new blade for the saw that cost $50.

I tried the other brands first
I’m just a hobbyist and needed a new Miter Saw, after my last saw was ruined by a flood.
I bought several from other manufacturers but found they just seemed cheap, and inaccurate, Finally found a great deal on this saw and sprung for it.. what a difference with this contractor quality saw, it’s solid and seems like it will last for ever- if I can just stow it a little higher next hurricane!

This saw has been used for a lot of work, I have it mounted to a special bench in my shop that provides 10 feet of table space on each side to support long pieces of wood at saw table level and with a Rocker Jawhorse and table it moves to the job site easily. Love the fact I can cut multiple angles and the blades are easy to change.
