I am on my third one of these in less than a year. That being said, the saw is great, it works extremely well and is designed to reduce fatigue. I have used this thing countless hours and it runs exceptionally well. The one issue is that it is allergic to any moisture whatsoever. I find it sad that dewalt made a chainsaw and didn’t waterproof the computer board, which would cost pennies to do with a spray. The first one lasted thirty minutes because a drop of dew apparently fell off of a leaf and found the electronic board(I’m guessing here, but seems most likely as the dew hadn’t completely dried and it suddenly stopped working). I returned it and got another that lasted for the next 7 months of hard use. While using, a lite drizzling rain developed and I stopped using as soon as I noticed. Too late! It died. I tried dewalt customer service and after spending over two hours getting disconnected I was finally transferred to what was supposed to be a local service center to check it. The dewalt CS rep never game me the number or told me the name of the service center, but confirmed they were open before he transferred me. Once he transferred me, the call went to an answering machine that only said they were closed and would reopen tomorrow without stating the name of the business and I had no number to contact them. I gave up and bought another because I didn’t have time to deal with dewalt’s crappy customer service anymore. I have numerous dewalt tools and have for over 20 years. This is the only tool that has ever failed me other than an air framing nailer.

Good solid DeWalt product
Love the DeWalt 20V Pruning Saw. I works beautifully and makes life much easier! It does, however, have two issues.
1. It require that the oil be drained after use and before storing, which is a bit of a nuisance.
2. I haven't used mine in about 4 months. I have charged the battery, but it isn't starting. It makes a click sound. The battery has a fresh charge. I removed the Sprocket cover and cleaned the sawdust that had collected inside. Am attempting to troubleshoot, but the manual doesn't address this issue. It was purchased in June 2023.
Outside of that, it is worth having around.

This is an absolute must have. You can hold the wood in one hand, cut with the other. Can cut almost as fast a small regular chainsaw

8*' cordless trimming saw
Got as father's gift. Good for what it is. The nose or tip guard is a pain. More of a DIY tool.

The safety mechanism to engage the trigger is almost impossible to use left handed. I have multiple dewalt chain saw tools, and this tool leaks oil when not in use drastically worse than the others. I wish i had read the reviews prior to purchasing.

Great tool for smaller projects
This chainsaw worked better than we expected! Have already used it to help two different family members. One needed 2-20 foot trees taken down, and lots large vines (40 years). The other had decorative trees and shrubs that needed to be removed…and all done on one battery!

Stopped working after one use
I used the chainsaw to prune some small branches for about 20 minutes. It worked great. They next day I took it out and it would not start. Nothing. No clicking, Motor does not start.

Useful tool but leaks absolutely everywhere
Great sized tool, but as many others have said, leaks oil absolutely everywhere. I'm a big fan of dewalt tools and have many. This is a very useful tool but the worse designed one by far. Having to empty the oil after each use is just a ridiculous suggestions. It's happened on multiple units. Flaw in the oil reservoir I think.

Works great, only downside is leaks oil everywhere
Works great for clearing small limbs or deadfall. Great for portages and camping trips as 1 battery lasts long enough for my needs. Used it to fell an 10" tree on a trip. Anything bigger I'll use my big saws. Great that it has an auto oiler, unlike the Stihl pruner. Only reason for 4 stars is it leaks oil like a sieve during storage.

Durable, with minor flaws.
Good pruning saw that can handle a lot of wear and tear.
Cons:
- Not easy to use left handed.
- Guard at the end of the bar breaks off easily, actually liked not having it on there anymore.
