Great for the first few cuts
Purchased the tool last year, didn't get it out of the box until spring this year. Seemed very flimsy at first but after a few cuts it seems very sturdy and cuts well. Until it the chain split the tip of the bar. 2nd time out this year, probably the 20th cut, and the one piece steel bar split, and chain became buried between the bar. I see a ton of other reviews with the same issue. The tool worked great while it lasted, never had this large of a failure with a DeWalt tool in the past; ever. The Chain Bar does not have a roller bearing on the end so there is a lot of stress from the chain on this part of the bar. The bar is also not riveted at the end like the 12" saw bar. Hoping to get a replacement bar and have it last, however many reviews confirm the same issues, and the replacement bar appears to have the same construction.

Trouble with NEW saw not working.
Purchased less than a Month ago and have had issues with it working. Thought battery was to small, so purchased 2 8AH and that made no difference. Seems the problem is with the pole connections. Poor design. Can’t find receipt to return to Ace, so guess I’ll have to send off to Dewalt to repair.

Works great till it randomly dies
Have had it for a few years and use it occasionally at home and at the cabin, maybe 10-15 small branches at a time for a total of maybe 70-80 small branches in its lifetime. Most of the time without the middle extension installed which makes it easier to handle with lower limbs. I would have given it 5 stars when it was working like a lot of folks have.
Stopped working randomly this week and only clicks about every 10 pulls of the trigger. No big limb, jam up, or overheating situation at all. Have read online and seen many complaints about this issue so I realize that it isn't just me and probably affecting a lot of folks (and likely a lot of the 5 star review folks eventually).
It's a frustrating and wasteful situation to have invested money into this and have it go dead and worthless with what is obviously a small electrical issue.

Don’t but this cheaply made piece of crap saw!!!!
This is a sloppy mess of miscellaneous parts, The joints are loose and when all three pieces are together it bows a lot. It makes it really hard to cut with all of the flex. You can’t get any leverage. Lack of power make it difficult to cut a limb. Tried to return to the store but they don’t return saws. I wish we would have read some reviews before purchasing this junk! Yes I want a refund!!

Dewalts advertisement is a bunch of bull!!!! 15 ft my eye! It's barely 10 ft long! I'm extremely upset! I'll never buy another dewalt tool because of their lies!!!! You can't add a 6 ft person into the equation and say it 15 ft long! Dewalt is a joke!!!

Best tool in my garage for tree trimming / lot clearing. I was able to clean/clear a 300x100 ft lot in half a day with just this tool. Took me days to pick up all of the trimmed branches/trees, the tool is MUCH faster than me. Amazing purchase. I would have paid someone thousands for what I did in half a day.

I bought this saw In mid April/23 as a gift to my husband. He absolutely loved it until he didn’t. The song just stopped working about September 26/23. I picked this round because all his other power tools are Dewalts and he’s always been happy with them. Very disappointing that this saw didn’t live up to the DeWalt’s reputation.
I generally buy him a new tool for his birthday every year I will have to rethink the brand that I buy now.
I just expected more

I've had this saw for over 2 years and it has worked great. Extremely useful tool to have around. It does leak some bar oil if it doesn't sit in the right position, which can make it a little bit of a pain to store. Other than that, great tool.

This worked well initially. However, now that I have had for some time I have noticed a few problems and safety concerns. First problem is it leaks oil very badly. The oil runs down the shaft while pruning and the shaft and your hands become slippery making it hard to control. Second problem is controlling the weight once you make the cut and have all the weight hanging out of plumb. If it came with a auxiliary handle for the shaft like a string trimmer that was adjustable this would help with the head weight and control of the unit. Third problem would be the trigger. Very hard to activate from most positions experienced in pruning. Forth problem was that without being able to control the weight and remove the unit efficiently, after the cut the unit gets trapped in the cut and the shaft has bent in two places. Over time I believe the shaft will become damaged beyond useability or break completely in to.
