DeWalt DWST08210 ToughSystem DS L-Cart Tool Box Case Carrier

I have been using this carrier for at least 5-6 years until one of the wheels broke. DeWalt does not sale replacement wheels of course so I had to buy a new carrier. The new carrier arrived and there is no central locking system anymore despite pictures of it on their website as well as it being advertised with a "Central locking system secures the boxes to the frame". Did Dewalt change the style of the carrier and not update the pictures and features? Who knows as the chat agent was worthless to speak to. I returned the cart and will look at other brands.

Had it for 4 years now. Dual purpose works great. Only bad part. Is DeWalt engineers are stupid and don't put the little bracket on the back so that you can lock them in place with an actual lock when they are on the carrier

I got this at the start of my apprenticeship around when they first came out.

I have used it almost every day since. Both as tool transport and as a tool itself. It has come in handy for moving large heavy tools/items like hytorques, a safe, large parts, etc. It has a (iirc) 200lb limit on the actual plate so more than enough.

As tool transport it is also great. I can fold this up and throw it in my hatchback along with a DS400 XL toolbox, briefcase toolbox, and full socket set. I like the lock on the cart, I like to wrap a chain around a column or the job box and lock it to the lock on the cart. Simple and secure enough to leave for the night.

Only gripe is how narrow the rubber grip is, wish it went all the way across the handle. I often find myself grabbing the bare steel on each side.

The cart is well made and solid however one of my only gripes is when you drop the plate down the cart doesn’t lock positive and strong. It’s somewhat sloppy and allows the cart to rock forward when the bottom box is removed. Even worse If you have the bottom box out an need something from a middle drawer box. Which leads me to the other problem which is that the drawers rock forward when slid all the way out with even minimal weight. I love being able to put all my tools onto one cart and bring them right to where I’m working. Saves me a lot of trips!

I initially bought this because I didn't have a way to transport my boxes. But after owning it now for 6 months I use it every day. Its solidly made and heavy if you need to lift it. The adjustment on the arms is easy and an Allen key is needed. But once set up the arms don't move or slip. The wheels move easily over surfaces, right now my site is beach sand and they even move over that! The bottom plate has a really solid latch and folds away when its in the back of a van. I've never used the locking system, but I've only seen the metal hook for it on the open tote.

Love this ToughSystem carrier. Makes getting tools and material to jobs easy.

I love this as a dolly and tool carrier combo. Its so useful when you need to move your tools around and save your back. The dolly frame is solid metal and thick. The dolly lip folds up pretty easy and the wheels are pretty tough. As a tool carrier it has 3 arms, I store 1 large box, 1 med box, a radio and a organizer on top of the radio on mines. The toolbox locking feature is effective at keeping everything secure as well. Nothing moves around when rolling and a you can add a lock or cable if you need extra security. I recommend this for anyone who only needs 3 tool box arms.
