20V MAX* XR® Brushless Cordless
My first impression when in hand made me feel unimpressed. The quality off the switch and trigger do not feel solid.to me. Love the features of drill and now the instructions could use some work as well. The charger was a challenge when trying to charge batteries i could not figure why it would not charge then i figured you had to line it up put a little force to seat it correctly in the terminal to charge. The durability time can only tell. This was my first dewalt tool that i tried. Good tool if it doesn't break and can handle the normal abuse it will get and do what its job is designed to do and keep kicking. Dewalt is a good company hope they can improve on my honest first time use and experience with their tools please i know dewalt you can. Bottem line dont cheap out on the quality of a great tool company. Quality is a number one attribute to success I wish i did not have to give a not so happy review but honesty can make something great and better.

This drill has been in my collection for about 2 years now with everyday use at home and work and it’s still running strong. When I’m at work installing this drill never fails to punch holes through laminate countertops, or even thinscape. Working in a dim lit area ? No problem, just set the light mode to 20 minute and now you have a extremely bright work light you can set up and work with no problems. I would highly recommend this drill driver to anyone looking to buy one.

The DCD800 ½” Dewalt 20v brushless drill/driver is a powerful tool that comes with the Powerstack battery. The powerstack battery gives this drill/driver extended runtime. This drill/driver is part of the XR family of tools and is a compact unit that be used for many different tasks. I used this drill driver on many small projects around the house but it has the power that I can use on my commercial projects. It’s sized right to make it compact enough without losing the power to accomplish difficult jobs. It has enough torque so that it can be used to drive screws into hard materials. This compact drill driver makes it a great tool for professionals who need to work in tight spaces and difficult-to-reach areas. The DCD800 comes with a new feature an adjustable three-position LED light that helps with seeing your work area. The light has a function that will extend work time in low light spaces.

The first time I used this drill was to drill a hole for can lights in a drop ceiling tile just to see if it would hold up. This drill had the power to turn a 6 in hole saw. The compact design allows you to get in to tight spaces. The power stack battery is small and powerful and last a long time. I like how the light is on a swivel base to allow you to adjust the light where you need it, and the option to turn the light off or to the 3min or 20 min delay is a nice feature.

Great, Compact, Multifunction Drill
The very first thing i noticed after unboxing, was how natural it felt in my hand. I usually prefer a full sized drill for that reason, but this one felt good. By far the highest quality one I've used as far as construction and sturdiness go. My favorite features on this had to have been the adjustable guide light; whch has a selecter swich which allows you to pick from off, on when running, or flashlight 20 min beam (super bright and unbelievably helpful). The light is able to pivit to adjust the angle of the beam to dial in the tip of the bit, however long it may be. The other star aspect was the powerstack battery. I was completely blown away by how light it actually is. Coupled with the runtime, its a game changer. I even used it in my heated jacket and could hardly notice it was there. The drill had had plenty of power for boring holes for ducts or running a paint mixer, or finding uou way to the truck after dark. My only negative remarks, if that's what you want to call them that, reflect the storage of the tool. With the drill, charger, and both batteries, you are hard pressed to get the little cloth bag zipped. With an XR with powerstack combo, I'd hope they'd sent it in a hardshell case. Otherwise top marks on this little powerhouse.

Light weight compact and very powerful power stack
I was pleasantly surprised with the power of this drill. I have both the DCD701F2 12v drill and the DCD992P2 20v hammer drill. I found it to be more powerful than the 12v by far and almost as powerful as the 20v. There was a noticeable power increase going from the 20v battery to the power stack battery. I will definitely get more of those. I love the for a smaller size drill it has a metal chuck.

The 20V Max XR brushless drill has performed exceptionally well. It has met all my standards for durability in the shop and on the job site. The light feature on this drill is excellent being able to leave it on and not having to use the drill. When used in combination with the power stack batteries this drill has a very good runtime. I found the drill to work very well even with a 6” hole saw. The anti kickback feature worked as it should in all work preformed. This drill has been an excellent addition to my power tool lineup.

A perfect balance of power, weight, and torque.
I've been using the DCD791 for a couple weeks now. To say this drill is perfect would be an understatement. I use drills everyday in my line of work, and the balance this one has is nothing short of incredible. Its powerful for everyday uses yet light and nimble enough that my arm doesn't feel like its going to fall off at the end of the day. The speeds are dialed in perfectly and the torque on this thing feels like it should be coming from something MUCH larger. My kit came with a regular 2ah battery and the new powerstack battery and man alive those powerstacks are awesome. So light weight and so much smaller. There isn't a person out there I couldn't recommend this too. Its powerful enough for your contractors and light weight and budget friendly enough for your DIY homeowners.

Great drill. Just what you’d expect from dewalt.
Really nice compact drill! Lacks no power, and is somehow more comfortable in the hand than previous models. Paired with a power stack battery, this is a perfect combination for any application. I used it to drill in some hinge screws and bore handle holes and it performed perfectly.

Compact and POWERFUL - A must have!
Long story short, I would recommend this kit to anyone looking for a versatile drill driver for their tool kit.
First, let's start with the drill. It is ergonomically comfortable, the adjustable light is bright, and the ability to adjust the brightness and angle is neat, but not a particularly compelling selling point for me. In my opinion, it's just one more moving part that could break on the jobsite. However, the light does feel strong. This drill boasts plenty of power with or without the PowerStack battery installed. Compared to my older, but more substantial Dewalt drill, this one outperformed it.
Second, the PowerStack battery. This was my first time using one, and I am very impressed. Combined with this drill, it delivers exceptional power and torque. This is a 1.7ah battery, and I didn't experience tremendous runtime from it, but it does charge quickly, so having a few, or buying a high amp hour version, may suit your needs better if you need extended run time.
Overall, this kit has everything you need to get going and be completely satisfied. It includes a solid drill, a charger, and two batteries.
Pros:
1. The drill is compact but powerful
2. The kit comes with two batteries and a charger
3. The PowerStack batteries live up to the marketing - they deliver brilliant power!
Cons:
1. The drill doesn't have an attachable handle, which matters because of the amount of torque this combo provides. The drill can "get away from you" if it binds up on the material you're drilling through.
