DeWalt DCHT820P1 20V MAX Lithium Ion Hedge Trimmer 5.0Ah

I bought this product several months ago. Charged the battery to fully charged. Inserted the battery and tested the hedge trimmer - worked fine! This week (Jan 2024) was the first time I needed to use it. It worked great and then...stopped. I let it sit for a while. Sometimes it would start but then stop after about 30 seconds. I am very disappointed as I bought the DeWalt brand given its reputation.

The fuel gage on the battery showed one of three green lights were lit upon opening the box. I charged the battery for 24 hrs and it never increased. I was able to trim my hedges and it cut nice and clean but lasted less than 15 minutes. Tried charging again for 24 hrs and never got more than one green light. The charger showed blinking red with yellow for a short time then stayed solid red. This unit is going back for a refund. Very disappointed with Dewalt quality.

Love my hedge trimmer -- it is awesome. But could use a new blade. Can these be replaced? I have a DCHT820. Thanks

Had this trimmer for years, Finally it burned up on me. Motor was smoking badly. Wrote to Dewalt as to if it was reparable, Waiting for reply... Worked great until then

Built solid, clears debris fast, strong performance, as expected from Dewalt. my main issue is how loud this unit is with a high pitched whine to it also. Older units performed well, but were much less of an issue for my ears. This one I have to wear ear plugs, it's too much! Quiet down your motors!!!

Love it! Wish would’ve got sooner, light weight, cuts as it’s suppose to. Battery lasts, for home home use, live Florida so all hedges grow way to fast, now can keep looking good without dragging cord around from the 1 I replaced

Great trimmer with excellent power and great cutting ability. This trimmer is easy to handle and not too heavy. Battery capacity is fantastic and charging time is pretty good. This hedge trimmer is the type of quality you can expect from Dewalt. The 22 inch cutting blade is just the right size for most hedges and the durability and blade sharpness makes it my go to hedge trimmer for trimming my shrubs and hedges.

I have only had it 2 days and used it once before I got rained out. It performed well

Great Trimmer so far. The 20V is super convenient and last plenty long. Great addition to the 20V family. Only complaint is no sheath included which is another $15+
