DeWalt DCF787C1 20V MAX Brushless Impact DR Kit

So happy I got this! It works great and saves me so much time. Everyone needs one of these in their toolbox.

This is my first impact driver, and I can’t believe I waited so long. It makes any assembly or disassembly task so easy it’s like it’s not even work. The LED is a nice feature, too. Makes it a breeze to align the fastener and driver heads.

Great for placing and removing those hard to adjust fasteners. Great power for the weight and versatility. The release is simple to operate and securely holds attachments well. Have used and abused it at home without any real complaint to note.

I picked up a DeWalt DCF787C1 impact Drill few days ago and sadly, returned it within 3 hours of purchase. Immediately upon unboxing and slipping on the battery, I noticed that the battery fits very loosely and wobbles. If I shake the drill in my hand, the battery wobbles and rattles. I tried this battery in my DeWalt hammer drill driver (DCD778 and it fits snugly. And I tried those batteries that came with DCD778 on the DCF787 and still they wobble. So, it's not the batteries. I took back it to the store, and the customer service assosiates opened a new box and tried the battery, and it has the same issue. I also went on to check the demo model on the floor, it also has the wiggly battery contact slot on the base. I noticed that all those wobbly battery units are made in China.

I like this model/impact driver, so, a later day, I went to another store in a different location. On their floor there were two DCF787 demo units - one made in China and the other made in Mexico. The Chinese made unit’s base where the battery goes in wiggles like a lose tooth. But the one made in Mexico is solid, and it didn't have this flaw. After talking and explaining to a sales associate in the tools department, he offered to open a new package that says made in Mexico. Guess what, that unit is good. My observation is that the units made in China got some serious quality issue. Don't get me wrong, there are reliable products made in China, this may be a defective batch, I don't know.

Dewalt should take an action to recall and remove this faulty version of DCF787 from stores. Why customers want to pay a premium price for some faulty design? Buyer beware! If you have a DCF787 that is made in China then you probably have a unit with wobbly battery.

The weight of the tool with battery installed is conveniently balanced in your hand, so fatigue is limited.
It fits comfortably in the hand.
I've used this to install bolts, nuts, and screws of all types.

Great quality tool, lengthy run time does what it's intended for with little to no effort, light weight.

After years of corded drills and dealing with extension cords I decided to pick up this drill. Initial impression is that it is one built on quality, good feel and weight (for the size, a drill used by professionals. I never used a impact driver before and I can definitely say it is designed for fasteners (screws and nuts) because the impact feature will reduce fatigue over a long day. A normal drill typically has a little twist at the end of tightening something. I really like it on my shed project attaching siding. Makes a job a lot faster.

I bought this driver after years of being a porter cable fan and instantly fell in love. It has great torque and amazing speed.its very light and durable and the battery life is awesome and lasts quite a while ..all in all its a great product and I would recommend to anyone in the market regardless of what your level of knowledge is. Whether a low level diy,er or a construction foreman, this tool will satisfy your needs from building a toybox for your kids to building a house from the foundation up, this driver will not disappoint ....

This impact drill is more than I expected it's kind of lots of power the battery lasts forever. And then I bought the drill bits to go with it I've yet to wear it out ...I love it
