DeWalt DCF787C2 20V MAX* Brushless 1/4 in. Cordless Impact Driver Kit

I've had a ton of dewalt tools over the years and most are phenomenal. BUT I recently had buy a new impact driver because I've been borrowing my dad's whenever I needed one. His was purchased probably 8-10 years ago. This one is a significant downgrade from his despite being the comparable model. The "variable speed trigger" is not at all comparable to the speed controls available on the older model. (the collar type similar to the drill design) This one requires far more pressure to facilitate driving then i've ever needed and strips screws horribly. The difficulty with the variable speed trigger and maintaining an appropriate speed while maintaining pressure means I've had this one wrench my hand as often as not. The amount of segmentation in their impact drivers means I have NO idea what I would even need to comparably replace my dads and the cost is obscene when you consider the degradation in quality and limited ability to understand what distinguishes the various models.

Bought this for the wife to do some diy at home. She loves it and I’m happy to always have more Dewalt tools.

This tool works great, it can be used to install decks, drywall, sheathing, hang doors, just about anywhere. It works great and saves the small batteries 20v so that they last longer than when used as a drill. Yet it can be used as a drill too. Very versatile. Only drawback small battery in kit, but it will last a long time.

Bought this 2 weeks ago did 4, 2.5" crews ok. Now i did 4, #6, 1" screws and keeps quitting. Battery rattles , not snug fit in the impact. Will see i guess. Maybe that's why it was on for a huge deal from Scrappy Tire!

I got this for a great price and it’s been worth every penny. I beat this thing like I do with all my tools and it’s still kicking. Here is my favorite feature...the chuck. Being able to grab a bit and just pop it into the chuck without using your other hand to pull the collar out is great. I lose it when I happen to pick a Milwaukee tool and do a bit change. It’s the little things, plus it has way more torque that my m18 stuff. One of my favorite tools in the arsenal.

I purchased this tool to install vinyl siding in an area that has very high wind using 1 inch SS hex screws with a 5/16 nut setter. A little over 6000 screws were installed and it never missed a beat! It being compact made it easy to get into tight places. I rotated the 2 batteries that comes with it and "never" had to stop due to lack of power. The fast trigger also made it easy to set the screws the proper depth. I am not a contractor but we did have some working nearby and came to see what we were doing and were very impressed with how fast the installation went. I too am impressed with this tool and how well the batteries held up.

I love this thing! My girlfriend bought it for me, my first impact. I wouldn't own another brand! Does everything I ask.

I’ve been using my dewalt impact driver for years. It has been heavily used, however it works just as good as it did when I first got it. These tools are very durable and strong. I am in love with this impact driver and even after all these years, I still use the same one and I don’t ever want to change it. I may not even have to change it because it lasts for so long. Very nice quality!

My son gave me this kit for my birthday after I used his to put my tv on the wall.
It put the lag bolts thru an oak backer board and inti the studs like it was nothing.
I have since installed two more tv’s on the wall, hammered into my concrete patio four post anchor plates and installing a large cover over our hot tub. This thing is unstoppable.

I’ve been in trades since I was probably 10 years old starting with interior to now building houses and pole barns. Out of everything I’ve done this tool has been the most universal and handy to have around for any situation. Whether I’m putting lag bolts through a pole or using it on my truck to give me that extra torque. Never been disappointed by the product and would fully recommend to anyone even just starting off to have one of these at least sitting around for when you need it.
