The M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ 1/4" Hex Hydraulic Driver is the quietest cordless fastening solution on the market. With Milwaukee's new FLUID-DRIVE™ Hydraulic Powertrain, users will experience up to 50% quieter operation, 3X less vibration for smoother operation, and faster driving speeds compared to standard impacts . The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 0-3,000 RPM with constant power output to drive screws faster. REDLINK PLUS Intelligence is the most advanced electronic system on the market, preventing damage to the tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. For use with REDLITHIUM Compact Batteries or Extended Capacity Batteries (sold separately), which deliver more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries on the market. The 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL provides greater control over output speed and power for greater versatility. Self-Tapping Screw Mode is designed to reduce walking when starting self-tapping screws as well as reduce overdriving, breaking and stripping out screws.

What a tool!
I am thrilled with this impact driver. I already have an M18 Fuel 1/4” impact drive that I use VERY frequently. I really like how quiet and smooth the hydraulic drive operates. I would absolutely recommend this tool!!!

Great Tool
The tool is great the way it works and so smooth and very powerful. It would be nice to be able to get a protive rubber boot for it!!!

M18 surge
It's a great driver. It stays cool when using continuously. It's quiet. Just be careful because it's way stronger than the noise would have you believe.

Don't waste your money!!
has a hard time driving a 3" screw into softwood. Sometimes you have to back the screw out to get another run at it. Takes too long to drive a srcew in.

Lacks Power, Lacks balance.
Good tool, quieter than standard impacts, but not great to put down as it is top heavy and lacks power.

Very best impact
Best impact on the market, even my buddies with hilti impacts love it over their hilti. It's quieter, smoother, and they last forever compared to Dewalts best impact. I won't ever buy anything other than the Surge. Just a FYI, I use mine all day, all week long being a commercial carpenter/steel stud framer and its never let me down. IT'S NOT THE BEST,...IT'S THE VERY BEST!!!

Unnecessary LEDs
I'm sorry but I haven't had enough time with these tools to see how well they hold up, but I know I don't like even one milliamp of my battery being used for an LED I don't need. These things are tools, not flashlights; though a light I can control may be useful at times. I already know when my batteries are charged enough.

Upgrade!
Excellent power and so smooth. Moved from an old first gen M12 impact anfter 10 yrs, and took the gamble on spending a bit more. Absolutely no regrets.
