Milwaukee 4272-21 Description

The Milwaukee 1-5/8” Electromagnetic Drill delivers the faster set-up, cutting and drilling. It’s 13 amp motor delivers the fastest drilling w/ annular cutters or twist drill bits. Equipped with a 2-speed gear box the tool can be adjusted tool-free between annular cutters at 475RPM and twist drill bits at 730 RPM.

In the rare case there is a Defective unit repairs must be handled at your local Milwaukee Service Center. Returns of Milwaukee Magnetic Drills cannot be accepted under any circumstance.

The drill works great but could use a improvement.
It's easy to use with small annular cutters that fit right into the quick release holder. It has a strong magnet that'll hold even when only making partial contact with the surface. The variable speed is max or min nothing in between and hard to tell when the switch is made from one to the other. The toughest con to deal with is the location of the on/off switch. In tight situations you either don't have enough room to turn the drill on or you're too close to leave it on.

A great tool for the shop and job site.
We do a lot of work on stainless steel tanks so we clamp a 1/4" steel plate over the SS and use the mag drill to knock out the work. We found the a 3rd party mag drill stand to use with it as well. Always in use in the shop for bracket fabrication.

A very good drill
Just bought it and it has already saved me a fortune in labor costs. Drilling through steel is a snap now!

Very sloppy with drill chuck.
Most disappointing( and expensive ) Milwaukee purchase to date. While the quick change spindle is convenient, there is far too much mechanical slop when using the drill chuck. Impossible to precisely locate holes with a twist drill. Would have never purchased had I known of this issue. Is there a way to convert to a rigid set screw 3/4" Weldon?

Not for accurate hole locations
The drills works but it is very in accurate. The chuck wobbles so much that drilling good holes is almost impossible. Even when the hole was started with a center punch it still walks. Bottom line is the chuck system is horrible sloppy. Make something with tighter tolerances that won't walk all over the place.

Terrible
Maybe used 3 times and doesn't work anymore. The magnet is very weak. Can't put any pressure on the drill or magnet will come off and shut off the drill. Only way it works is clamping the drill down

I will never buy another Milwaukee product .
I have this drill. I was using a one and nine sixteenth annular cutter. The shaft broke above the Weldon Chuck.
I have written to Milwaukee to see about getting a replacement. They have not contacted me or responded to my emails. I have burnt up several grinders in the welding shop . I do not want free replacements. My business is more than willing to purchase parts but still no response. From now own my business will only purchase Dewalt .
