bought this for my dewalt laser I got from Home Depot. The Dewalt laser I have does not fit this well at all. It is extremely difficult to get a few threads on to the mounting pad and it does not hold the laser securely or level. The legs are nice and I love that you can telescope them out to gain height. The top wobbles way too much to get a reliable level. Not satisfied with this purchase at all but unfortunately I am unable to return it. It is so bad it us unusable and Ill have to find another option and fork out some more money for a better quality tripod that I can securely mount my laser level. Do not buy this tripod, you wont save money, just fork out the extra money for a better built product.

i bought this and had it in its carry bag and the tilt adjustment knob broke off from the weight of the tripod. The tripod is very light, but the adjustment arm was plastic and thin. I am very disappointed in Dewalt. This will definitely play a factor in buying any more of their products in the future.

Mounting pad doesn't quite fit the laser
The removable mounting pad that came with mine does not match the one pictured here. Rather than being rectangular, it is square, and the back two corners of the pad interfere with the non-removable feet on my DW08802 laser, so you cannot completely screw the 1/4" post into the bottom of the laser and have it sit flat. The only way to do it is to set the pad at a 45 degree angle relative to the body of the laser. But then this makes the tilt mechanism on the tripod not work correctly. The only other option is to shim the pad with washers (but then you don't get very many threads connected, or to cut off the two back corners of the pad so that they don't interfere.
I'm unable to find any "compatibility" information to say if this simply wasn't meant to be used on my laser.

Not good, feels like a toy
The legs mechanisms is good, legs slides correctly, the central locking also works fine.
The top mechanism feels like a kids toy, the telescopic part is moving all the time, also if you don't pay attention and you try to turn the top you damage the teeth. All adjustments, even tighten up hard, they all move and on windy conditions or even in a building where there is slight movement around, the laser will shake a lot.
I wouldn't buy this tripod again, I would go for one more professional grade.
