Nice pair of tools! The compact one is almost nicer, but the magnetic blade storage built into the bigger one is really handy. They have excellent actions for "just" a razor knife, and the pocket clips are good too. The small one is light enough to forget it's in your pocket, and has a thin metal liner that works pretty well.

Overall a good knife but…
I have been using the Stanley 99E for decades now. I’ve tried the later iterations by Stanley and others but never liked the ‘improved’ shapes nor the quick change mechanisms. I finally decided to try the Fastback set and they are *almost* a fine replacement to the 99E. I love the compact design. I like the blade change mechanism. The problem with this knife is that the flip action is designed for holding the knife in the right hand then pressing the release button with the thumb. Opening the knife with the left hand requires pressing the release button with the index finger. It can be done, but the process not nearly as smooth using the thumb to open the knife.
This knife will be five stars if Milwaukee can offer a left-handed version or better yet alter the design so that the knife is ambidextrous.

Milwaukee FASTBACK Folding Utility Knife is a treat to use with its quick switch blade type opening set up. I watched a builder use one of these and knew I had to have one since it is so easy to operate. I lucked out with a two-pack = one for the tool belt and one for the bench. I wish these had come with bi-metal blades because, then there would be no better knife to be had; an easy fix, though. One has a string cutting feature, wire stripper. The quick change, no tool blade changing feature is a bonus. It says it will hold up to five extra blades, but I could only get it closed with four.

I would buy again, just needs a little improvement
The utility knives are great! Especially when you’re peeling wire almost everyday! The ONLY downfall is the clip. It’s too flimsy. If y’all would make it more sturdy that would be great. I had one clipped on my pocket and it got bent. And I went to bend it back and it could only go so far. It was still loose and wouldn’t clip back to my pocket right. It would just slide up and down with No tension. So I was out in the field and I noticed it wasn’t clipped to my pocket anymore. It fell off. Lost it for good. Other than that, good design!
