Milwaukee 2823-22HD Description

The MILWAUKEE® M18 FUEL™ 21" Self-Propelled Dual Battery Mower Kit meets the performance, durability, and ergonomic needs of landscape maintenance professionals. The optimized steel deck design paired with higher blade speed allows the battery-powered lawn mower to achieve superior airflow and increased lift to deliver the best cut quality in mulching, bagging, and side discharge applications. The POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor delivers more max torque than 200cc gas to take on the most demanding mowing applications. Milwaukee REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence offers total system communication between tool and battery for unmatched levels of performance, protection, and productivity. The advanced electronic package also delivers an instant throttle response on both the lawn mower blade and drive motors to reach full throttle in under 1 second, which increases control and productivity. The mower requires 2 M18™ REDLITHIUM™ Batteries for operation. When paired with the included 2 M18™ REDLITHIUM™ HIGH OUTPUT™ HD12.0 batteries, the mower delivers up to 60 minutes of runtime, allowing up to 1/2 acre of cutting when removing 1" of grass at a 3 MPH self-propelled pace. The Variable Speed Self-Propelled Mower offers speeds between 0 - 4 MPH, and the Active Speed Management Paddles allow users to easily adjust their walking pace while in operation to increase control. This battery-operated self-propelled lawn mower features a steel deck, 3-in-1 grass management, single point height adjustment, high lift mode, front & side LED lights, vertical storage, and two deck handles. The M18 FUEL™ 21" Self-Propelled Dual Battery Mower is part of the M18™ System, fully compatible with over 200 solutions.

Quite and very easy to use. I have steep mountain slopes to mow and this mower has no problem running up the hills.

Great product but no replacement parts
I love this product, It has been really usefull whenever I wanted to cut my lawn and the battery lasts for a while. However, I was mowing the other day ( as usual) and the blade when straight into the ground,hopefully it didnt got me. I reviewed the parts and the plastic shear plate (28-20-0102 Shear Plate) got damaged and the blade cannot be screwed tight. I cannot find this part anywhere and I wouldnt risk using it without it.

With better thermal management would be 5 stars
The mower is almost perfect - the lights seemed like a gimmick but they really aren't... what lets this mower down is battery heat management - which admittedly seems to be something that Milwaukee has realised with the new dual charger which has fans (i have the old dual charger and have to use a ryobi fan to keep the batteries cool when charging... anyway:).

This thing is formidable right up until the brand new 12ah batteries get too hot, there appears to be a air supply from a blade mounted air catcher - but its woefully inadequate when ambient temp is above 24 degrees C.

I believe this could be easily solved with a modification of the grey plastic panel on the battery cover with a properly shielded high static pressure fan (Milwaukee please reach out if you want someone to do this im a tool nerd, but i dont want to void my warranty) - but unfortunately at the moment the mower is let down in summer by the batteries going into thermal protection - i currently get around this by putting a couple of ice packs in plastic bags around the batteries - but its not a great solution during summers in Auckland, New Zealand, once ambient temperature goes down to 20 degrees c the batteries last longer and the mower is flawless.

cant wait to try this overpriced mower.
i have not had the chance to mow with it yet, probably next week the grass will be ready for the first mow of the season. the mower feels very well built, heavy duty. not sure why it costs so much, the competition sells their mower kits for less than Milwaukee's bare tool! i will update the review after a couple mows.

Milwaukee service department don’t cut grass.
I bought the M18 Fuel battery mower 1 1/2 yeas ago. The mower was just what I was looking for. My wife and grandkids love cutting grass with it. However this year 2024 first time cutting grass this year it would only run at very low RPM’s “to slow to cut grass” I delivered and dropped off to a Milwaukee certified tech 45miles away from my house 2/21/24. Long story short - it is still where today as it had to go through the process of Milwaukee approval before the place could even check it out which seemed to take the longest time. And now the wait on parts to be delivered and repaired. Before you buy one -check how close the nearest certified repair place is located from you house and have a backup mower because the grass don’t stop grow.

Defective out of the Box
Shuts off within a few seconds of starting. Reading the reviews and looking online at some YouTube videos I see this is a problem experienced by a significant number of owners. So by now I have to believe the engineers at Milwaukee know what the root cause and corrective action is.
I am a 100% Milwaukee battery tool guy and this is by far the most expensive Milwaukee product I own. Very disappointed.

My very first electric lawnmower!
I'm really looking forward to mowing my lawn with this electric mower and not dealing with the loud noise of my old gas mower! There is still snow on the grass right now, but I did use my neighbors Milwaukee mower in the fall and I loved it so much I just had to buy one for myself!

Milwaukee self propelled mower
The best mower I ever had. I love it and will not buy a different mower again. I just suggested to have a hard catcher and not the bag type.
I've tried other mowers and I still prefer working with my Milwaukee.

Well Built Mower
Awesome mower. Very well designed. Will last for many years. Watched a lot of U-tube videos on this mower before I bought it. Was really impressed by the videos comparing to other brands. Milwaukee knocked this out of the park. I’ve been a Milwaukee fan for 10 years now and knew they made a good Quality product. Had it for 3 days now and used it one time so far. Can’t wait to use it more. Everything on it is built to perfection. It came with the 12 ah Forge batteries and rapid charger. I already had the super charger and the Forge batteries charged really fact. The charger fans blowing thru the vents on the batteries while charging should make the batteries charge faster and keep them cooler and have longer life.

Great mower....but
amazing mower, single lever height adjustment for all wheels. I wish that the 2 batteries would last long enough to mow just over 1/4 acre (12K sq ft of lawn)

Too many unnecessary features
Don’t need the lights (who cuts grass in the dark?) and don’t need the self propelled option. If they sold a stripped done version I would buy it in a heartbeat. BTW I have 20 other Milwaukee M18 tools that I am very happy with.

Great so far
Only used twice so far, but it’s one of the best mowers I’ve used. It’s not much of a time frame to go off, so I’ll update later; but so far it’s great. Batteries last more than enough for my 1/4 acre.

Best push mower I’ve used.
Great design overall. The batteries are lasting longer than advertised. Mulching blade gives a great cut.
