I bought a this nail gun at Home Depot. After firing about 10 nails, it started leaking air badly. Seemingly out of the tip. Immediately took it back for an exchange, brought it home, and the same thing happened. Only this time, it felt like it was leaking from the trigger. I'm kind of done with DEWALT.

Normally a big fan of DeWalt tools, not sp much with this DeWalt offering, sure its lightweight, however, too much composite components for my liking (16" stud centering tool good idea but I have my doubts about the durability of such a feature on a jobsite - tools fall off ladders), like many others the 2.5" nails I picked up at HD did not fit and resulted in a lost afternoon returning gun and nails to HD, a lot of hassle for a $200 plus tool.

Bummer about the fact that there is NO way to fit 21/2 inch Dewalt Nails in this 21/2 inch nail gun - if you are good with a 2 inch max gun this one works really well -

Was a great tool at first
Im a trim carpenter so I use my nailguns every day but also take good care of them this gun was great for the first couple months then things took a turn, i was using it for a beam and the fire mode selector switch completely fell out of the gun a tiny screw backed itself out making it fall out was extremely difficult to get back together. Another issue Im currently having with it is the magazine slider is pretty gummed up somehow and its causing it to jam since its not putting pressure on the nails in the mag pushing them to the top. I really liked this gun at first but its not as bulletproof as all my other dewalt tools. The 16 inch center flip down thing is a fantastic design though, and the precision point tip really doesnt tear up surfaces as bad as a normal nailgun.

I am a committed DeWalt tool owner. I had noticed there were some concerns with this tool in terms of jams. Well yes I had the same expereience with my first usage. Very disappointed, had more jams with the first project that I can recall in all my times using my old Bostitch . Yes easy to clear the jam with the front pull down release, however it is a pain. Not sure I would buy this tool again.

I am a fan of Dewalt fasteners. I got this 15g about 2 months ago and I have enjoyed using it. This is my 3rd DeWalt trim nailer (I have the 23g, 18g, and now the 15g. This nailer is very light weight and seems to have been made with great quality. The depth adjustment setting is awesome and working out a jam is a breeze with their tooless design. On thing I am not a fan of is the precision tip. I love it for my 18g nailer but not for this one. It just dents woods way to easy. I have to be careful about the pressure I put on something so it doesn’t dent it. Other than that, I would definitely recommend.

Good nail gun to have in the garage. Great for trim work. The only other nailer I have is an 18 ga nailer, so when you need something with a little more bite, the 15 ga is perfect. It has a little more weight than an 18 ga gun, but also comes with more power! I have only used DeWalt nails and have had no problems or jamming. I also like the angled nail feed, as it really lets you get tight to your work surface. The precision point also makes it easy to shoot your nail exactly where you want it. Overall, it handles perfectly and gives you holding power that smaller guns can't give you.

The 15 ga air nailer is a great tool that does everything it says it will. I just finished my first job with this guy and I have to say I really like it a lot. A remodel in an old house with old hard seasoned wood. Every 2-1/2" nail went it perfect, even into some knots. Never jammed but the ease of opening the front is so nice if you do have a jam. The best part is being able to align the tip exactly where it needs to be before pulling the trigger. The tip is up and out of the way and only comes down when you squeeze the trigger. If it tip isn't in contact it doesn't fire. Just the opposite from other nailers but so much easier to get the nail in the right spot. Having extra tips attached to the gun keeps them handy. The 16" measure on the side make quick work of finding studs. The air blast is size but don't expect too much air pressure and it is setup for a right handed person. I can be used as a lefty but it's a bit awkward. The air hose connection doesn't swivel which does help with hose management and I use a carpenters pencils to the round pencil sharpener doesn't do me any good but could be okay. I will say the selector switch is pretty hard to turn, luckily I keep mine in the same position most of the time. The adjustment wheel is not at all easy to use. I can't adjust it with my trigger finger while holding the gun, it's not very big and impossible to see the markings to know which way to turn it. Easy loading, nice weight and balance, comfortable grip and so far keeps firing even when tossed around and yes dropped a few times. This is a great value and hits the mark in all the right ways.
