Great for around the house, small property.
Easy to change poles and ends. Only 20V, so great for around the house, small property; not commercial use. I use it regulary to keep trees trimmed around the house.

I bought a pole hedge trimmer 2 years ago and it worked for a while. When it quit, I thought I had jammed it and burned out the motor so I bought another one on Feb. 13, 2024. It quit working almost immediately and there was no question it did not get jammed, so I returned it under the DeWalt "90 day return if not satisfied " deal on April 24, 2024. After not hearing anything from DeWalt i wen to my service order and I was told my refund request was rejected and the trimmer was to be sent back to me on May 8. No reason given and it wasn't sent back. No Refund, No trimmer. No way to get DeWalts attention. Do not buy this trimmer. As a side note I own 40 Volt DeWalt Chain Saw, and string trimmer, 20 Volt DeWalt String Trimmer, Blower, Impact Driver, Drill and Multi-tool. Love them all but this experience has me looking to another manufacturer for my next purchases

Disappointing - pivoting head poor design
I have owned this trimmer for 3 years. It has always been a problem for the cutting head to be stable - the pivot head allows end of tool to move too much > 1" when new, becoming horrible as the tool has aged. The lack of a good locking mechanism is frustrating. The locking mechanism is a metal ring with holes in it, A thumb trigger on the head is pulled back, this allows a pin to release or lock in place. This is where the design falls severly short - the metal ring on the trimmer side only has a small tab that the plastic case has to absorb all of the weight/force on the trimmer head. On the pole side the plastic trigger pulls back a very short pin, so again a great deal of force is on plastic parts. Just as this has fallen off warranty, the head will no longer stay locked. I made some attempts to remove the beveled edge of the pin that goes into the guide ring to prevent the pin from backing out of the trimmer head metal ring. This only had a small improvment. The flexible head lock/support needs significant improvement. A larger ring and metal support parts would be needed to make this tool durable. I do not see improvements in the product design, therefore I am considering other pole trimmers that have well built pivot head. I do love my other DeWalt products, this one is an exception.

The trimmer made the job of annually trimming Japanese maple branches much easier than trying to use pole pruner. I'm all DEWALT when it comes to tools. I have not had any problems with the arsenal that I own.

Great attachment for pole saw.
I really like how easy it is to hook this up and trim my bushes. The adjustable angle is amazing for trimming the top of them. It does get tiring holding unit over your head. But it is very easy to trim bushes, cuts through like butter.

Amazing! As an avid landscaper personally, for my church and my community it has saved me hours. I can trim much taller and yes wider. Example: 8’ht x10’w scrub, 5’ wide ground cover, low branches on trees. Also, pairs with chain saw extension pole.
