I was impressed for starters by the fitted hardshell case when it arrived. I've purchased other high dollar tools and been very disappointed the company skimped the protective case. Good start. I admired the nice organized way everything fit for a moment and, as always, jumped into the torture testing. Straight out of the box, with zero adjustment, it blazed through every piece of steel i put in its path.. Even 1.5" pipe and 2" square stock in les than 15 seconds... effortlessly... and still had 3 battery bars remaining. The light is a genius touch. Simplicity in operation, weight is less than i figured but perfect for allowing the saw to pull itself through the cut. Blade change is a breeze.... awesome. I included pics with material and cut times in seconds but some wouldn't load, but believe me, I had high expectations but this blew me away. I always try to find something that can be improved upon, but im struggling here. Heck, I don't know, toss an extra blade in. Nice job DeWalt. Home run."

got this a couple months ago from the Dewalt sampling community, it came with a brushless saw, charger, case and 2 5ah xr batteries. (Worth their weight in gold!) I work in a custom fabrication shop with a lot of odd cutting needs, and this saw fills them perfectly. From cutting material off stock to making that one weird cut and everything in-between, this saw has preformed amazingly. This saw is powerful, to the point that YOU SHOULD NOT SCRIMP ON BLADES, this saw will eat them up. We had to switch to nicer saw blades because it kept moving thru stuff too fast and chewing up teeth (paired with a few peoples improper usage) but with nice blades, its cut 4x4x1/4 tube steel with no qualms whatsoever would highly recommend!!

Do u work in a welding shop or cut a lot of electrical conduit and the like? Me too!! That's why I picked up this lovely saw. I make a lot of railings in the field and we do all sorts of stuff with all sorts of materials and given 50% of it is less than 5"x5" this saw will handle it no problem! My boss and I even went so far as to try to cut 2"x4" square stock and it blazed right through!

The battery life was surprising as well. Initially skeptical of 5AH batteries, I was amazed to see just how many cuts they managed to make! We used that saw all day and only towards the end of the day did the second battery die.

Dewalt, you guys have truly outdone yourself with this one, I was excited to get this thing but everything about it has exceeded expectations and then some!

If there was one thing I HAD to change about this saw, it would the material stop. It's actually perfect as is but if I had to gripe an adjustable width would have been cool as well as the adjustable height! Although as I work in metal making something that bolts on is a very minor task, so ultimately I'm just 100% happy with it!

This is one of the most versatile tools I've ever used. If you are cutting lengths of metal pipe, gutter extensions, PVC tubes, electrical conduit, or doing any type of demolition, this is an invaluable tool.

The battery life is hard to believe. It comes with 2 DCB205 20V MAX 5.0Ah batteries so you'll always have a backup. Not once did I find myself without a charged battery ready to go.

I've used this band saw to cut lengths of 4" Schedule 40 White PVC Pipe for buried gutter drainage as well as various diameters of galvanized electrical conduit and black steel gas pipe. For a cordless tool the motor is very powerful and I never felt like it was being bogged down during a cut. I also need to cut some gutter downspout extensions and would highly recommend this tool as it resulted in very clean cuts with no tearing or burring.

Where this tool because invaluable to me was during a recent kitchen demolition. It sped up the process greatly. I had to remove a 2" cast iron waste stack pipe in a wall and I was able to cut it out using this band saw in no time at all without damaging the exterior sheathing. Being able to quickly pair down demo materials made cleanup and carry away much easier.

In addition to its power and battery life, this tool is packed with features. Blade swapping is a breeze and the LEDs that light up your cutting area are very bright. The variable speed is very handy for different materials and has a very wide range of speeds. It is surprisingly lightweight but you will not be using this tool one-handed. The adjustable hand hold for your other hand allows you to ensure that you have a comfortable hold of the tool at all times.

Overall, you will be surprised at how many situations where you will find yourself reaching for this tool. I've already had a number of friends asking to borrow it for their own projects.

So I received this new band saw in the mail about a month ago. I've used it on a couple occasions and love the portability and functionality of this band saw. The weight is less of those of the corded variant(s). The LED light is a huge plus when cutting metal, makes every cut easy and accurate. The power of this band saw is for days. It melts through metal like it's a hot butter knife. The overall quality of this bandsaw is built to withstand the abuse of the trade.

I got this saw to cut square tubing to make gate frames for privacy fences and deck gates. This saw guts a smooth easy to weld 45 degree angle with ease like its hot butter. My gates look great and time is cut down from using my chop saw. Cuts are cooler and manageable quickly.

Great tool for smooth and effortless cutting!! Tool is lightweight and quiet!
