GearWrench 80942 Description

GEARWRENCH started in 1996 with the birth of the original ratcheting wrench. Today the brand has continued to innovate products by adding productivity features to many product platforms. This GEARWRENCH 239-piece mechanics tool set offers 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 In. drive sizes. Featuring 45-tooth full polish chrome quick-release ratchets and knurled extension bars for a much needed grip when working on the job. Full polish chrome makes clean-up easy. Sockets and wrenches feature Surface Drive technology to reduce fastener rounding. All tools are stored in a 3-drawer storage box with independent sliding drawers. Side flaps are used to lock the drawers in place and has a steel hinged lid and durable handles.

Great Tool Set
There are numerous different versions of this tool set. I chose the 239 piece set and I am very happy with it.

Despite the other negative reviews, I think the case is great. The layout and removable drawers is very convenient, and I find it quite sturdy. As far as the handle, I wouldn't want to carry this thing far with the handle. It is a heavy box full of tools, so I prefer to use both hands to move it anyway, so it's not really an issue.

I've had this exact tool set since 2014. The tools themselves have never once failed me and I have used them on everything from military vehicles to sewing machines. They are fantastic. The case however, is trash. The handle wouldn't even hold the weight of the toolbox from the first time I lifted it. Pulled it out of the box, unwrapped the toolbox, lifted it up and spilled every tool from the box into my living room floor. Within a week, one of the snaps broke off and I've had one clasp ever since then. The nut drivers rusted to uselessness after a couple years but I didn't use those anyway, and the bit driver is a nice gesture but also nearly useless.
