GearWrench 83000 Description

The 83000 is a 68 piece 1/4 In. and 3/8 In. drive 6 and 12 point SAE and metric mechanics tool set that includes both standard and deep length sockets. This set includes: 62 total sockets, 1/4 In. and 3/8 In. drive 84 tooth standard ratchets, and 4 total extensions. The set comes with a blow mold storage case. Sockets and drive tools are full polish chrome and the sockets feature off-corner loading that reduces fastener rounding.

Excellent Tool Set But Case Is Not Great
This set, much like Gearwrench's other products, is an excellent tool set. The tools are high quality, well made, and it includes just about every socket size you will need for most basic automotive and general use work. The 84 tooth ratchets are very smooth and very good for use in tight spaces. The only drawback to this set is the blow molded case that it comes in. The case, while laid out well and provides easy access, is not ideal for storage. the case seems to be a bit too large as many of the sockets fall out of their slots when the case is anything except for flat and right side up. Due to this, I would not recommend keeping this set in a vehicle unless you like reorganizing and rearranging sockets. The case is the only reason this is not a five star review.
