Radio Power button defective
I bought this radio because of the reputation behind the brand. Great worked great until the power switch failed. Apparently the switch (knob) will not respond. At first it would not turn off. Now it’s off it will not turn on.

According to reviews and posts it’s an issue across the board Every power tool I own is Dewalt. This is the one that I enjoyed most and has let me down.

Every other Dewalt device is top notch. I wish I could say the same for my radio.

Disappointing radio
The radio was great until it wasn't. It lasted about two years and then crapped out. The radio doesn't stay on and at times will just come on without pushing the power button. I had it on in the garage today for about 30 seconds and then it shut down. A product like this should last MUCH longer than it has.

Started off strong
Threw it in the trash after a year. Would randomly turn on and off. Wouldn't recognize batteries. Never abused.

Trash.
I’ll just get straight to the point:
(1) this radio will not charge your Dewalt batteries. The battery connection is to power the radio.
(2) playing IG or FB videos will cut the volume out unless you toggle the volume up and down on the phone.
(3) when the power cord is connected, you can charge your phone with the usb port. With the battery connected, the radio has to be turned on for the usb port to activate.
(4) no cable storage.
(5) the LED screen is great indoors, very hard to read when outside.
I wouldn’t recommend this radio unless it will be used in an office setting.

Underwhelmed
Disappointed with this radio compared to my old Makita. Not weather proof, plug in can only be inserted when battery is removed, sound is just ok. Off/on switch is also the volume and is easily bumped on or off accidentally. LCD display is too bright if using off site plus I like having a time display. Finally, what is the aux option for? Who uses this?

Not reliable
On/off button failed. Won’t turn off. Also will not operate when using cord. Cord is good. Tested voltage out and well as continuity.

not worth the money
I bought this in December for my husband to use out in the garage it worked fine for 3 months and then it just quit working. we have alot of dewalt tools but definitely not happy about this radio.

Short circuit
Got it as a gift for Xmas. It will not turn off at all. Have to unplug and/or take battery out to shut off. It will stay on for about 10 to 15 minutes and then shuts off. Seems like it has to cool off or something because a half an hour later I can turn it back on again for a little while.

Had it for a couple of years now
I've had this speaker for a couple of years & it still works brand new..Have both bass & treble settings at +3. Still sounds amazing. I use it both with the battery & wall plug in option depending on where I'm using the speaker at. It's gone through a couple of falls & left it outside in light rain a couple of times. Literally still works

truly disappointed ... and I love DeWalt products
bought this a week ago .. surprised that the radio has such lousy speakers and for some reason cannot pickup several local stations that i can get all the time in a car or on other devices.
I will stick with dewalt mostly because of the battery.. but what a disappointment .. why not make it great?
the price is not cheap.. just don't get why it isn't the same Dewalt quality

Good quality
I've had this radio for almost 2 years. It has very good sound quality. It's not quite as loud as you would expect, but still pretty good. I like that it can be powered off of AC or DC, has AM/FM, bluetooth, and AUX, and has presets for the radio. I would definitely recommend.

Nice radio, has technical issues
Purchased from home Depot, within 3 months it started turning on and off by itself. Returned it and gave me a new one within 6 months. It happened again. Went to a DeWalt warranty center. They took a while to verify the problem. Sent me a new one. Within 3 months It's happening again. Definitely a problem with this radio and DeWalt has not identified it. I would definitely buy a different model.

Never liked the PWR/Volume switch
Received Radio as a Christmas present. It was only used in the shop, never in the elements. Great overall product but I always had my doubts on the power switch. Recently it wouldn't turn off, wouldn't turn on, finally got it to turn on, shut off by itself and will not come back on. Filled out the online form under the warranty section but have not received a response. Looks like its going to be a hassle...

Worked great till it didnt
Nice little radio that I keep on the shelf in my garage out of the weather and occasionally would throw a battery in it when we'd have people over. The versatility of being able to use batteries or 110v is super handy & it was exactly what I wanted for a radio. Worked great until I went to turn it on & it wont do anything. Ive owned it for about 2 years now.

Worked great until it didn't... Then poor service
Bought this in May 2022 and loved it. Good sound and bluetooth range, takes DeWalt batteries that I have a lot of for all my tools, great! A few weeks ago it developed the power switch problem that it seems to be prone to from the other reviews. In a few days it went from being glitchy to not turning on at all. I came to the DeWalt website and looked into warranty service. Based on my location I was given option of shipping the unit to Salt Lake or taking to a "local" repair center 90 minutes away in Lewiston, ID. Took to Lewiston and dropped off. Was told if I qualified for repair would have to pay $25 because "DeWalt doesn't pay us enough for warranty repair work." I didn't like that much, but figured I'd see what they could do. Today (8/8/23) I got a call from the tool repair center saying the unit is no longer under warranty and has no serviceable parts, so do I want to have it back or have them throw it away. I said, I guess just throw it out and we ended the call there.
I thought I remembered it having a 3 year warranty, and that was a major factor in my decision to buy it, so I came back to the DeWalt website and looked up the item. Sure enough, it has a 3 year warranty. I called the repair center back and told them the website says 3 year warranty. Was told to take the radio back and take it up with DeWalt. Very disappointing customer service. All of my cordless tools are DeWalt and until now I have never been disappointed.

Power Switch Issue
Looks like there is a manufacturer defect with the power switches......after review of the comments I'm not the only one with a switch problem....after 6months of use it wouldn't turn on so I unplugged it for awhile plugged it back up and began working......it played all day then went to turn it of and wouldn't turn off....unplugged it and plugged it back in then wouldn't turn on.....almost all of my power tools are dewalt....and they have provided great service....this radio is a stain on the brand's name......my big question is what are we going to do to correct this obvious defect....thanks for your time and hope this can be resolved easily.......

Looking for a way to talk to a person
I bought this radio for my husband awhile back. He already had a De Walt radio and loved it. He is actually still uses it. He didn’t want to get this one dirty so it set in the garage. When he went to use it he discovered the on/off switch is defective. I see another review that says the same thing. Very disappointed!

Power button stopper working.
I received this as a Xmas gift 7 months ago. I use this as a shop radio, sits on a bench and doesn’t move. Went into my shop this morning and the radio was on, (I turned it off the night before when I left the shop). Tried the power button and the radio would not turn off. I unplugged the power cord to turn it off then plugged it back in. Power button does not work. Very disappointed, this cast a lot of money for something that dies in 7 months.
