False advertising. This does not include a Biscuit Joiner! And they can't even spell 'Where' in their review rating form. Lol

This is a prime example of a tool designed by someone that will never use it or doesn't know how to use the tool. The blades for this item are awful and chip or break after limited use. The first time you try and change the blades you will quickly find out why you will never buy this tool again. The blades are $20-$30 and only last 1-2 hours if your lucky. Its awkward to get the blade into proper alignment with multiple parts needing to be attached together then screwed together twice and often times results in everything falling out of place as you screw the items back into the tool. I have the plug in version of this item and the blades are significantly easier to replace and last a lot longer. After trying to change the blades for the 5th time in a month I have given up and just going to buy a different brand. The main part to hold the blades in has already bent and wont seat the blade replacement correctly. I have only used it on pine 2x4s, cant imagine this holding up to another in terms of more dense types of wood.

The tool seems to have good power and sharp blades out of the box, but the chip extraction is pretty terrible. Running without the dust bag or vacuum attached causes the chip chute to plug almost immediately in my experience. The problem disappears when using a vacuum attachment. Would give a better rating if this problem was solved.

The issue I have is that at a zero setting it is not zero. Too much material is being removed at this "zero" setting. I would like to have a reply from Dewalt on this issue and how to resolve it.

A must for plaining doors on remodels
Great for plaining doors. Also has built in grooves for door edges. Easily adjustable. Only complaint isn’t it doesn’t come with exhaust bag.

It is light weight and works well for small jobs in the field. I prefer my heavier makita in the shop. I would recommend the tool. It is a good value for the price.

Sharp blades, plenty of power. Makes some jobs much quicker. If you’re on the Dewalt platform, another must-have tool.

Residential new build and renovation
I use this planer pretty regularly on residential new build homes and renovations. Mostly it gets used for straightening wall framing. It works brilliantly in this application, however, I do have to make sure the exhaust port doesn't face upwards. If it does face upwards the port will block about 50% of the time from the shavings. My only other gripe is that there is no face that allows the framing to be done directly up to a face, the planing stops about 2-3" of the floor or ceiling due to the drive etc that sticks out the side.
But all up this is a great planer, it gets the job done no matter the material. Replacement blades are cheap, the body is solid and the grips feel good. The depth adjustment has a good feeling positive click, and there is a small place to keep spare blades. Batteries can drain fast, but as above the tool is powerful. Blade change is easy. The safety is easy to operate one handed.
